Discover Pattaya: A Day Trip From Bangkok

My Dad lives just outside of Pattaya so I spent a lot of time here on my trip and can say it is definitely worth a visit. So, if you find yourself with an extra couple of days in Bangkok, why not take a day trip to Pattaya? Just a short journey to the south, Pattaya offers stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife and unique culture experiences.

    How to get there

By bus

Buses to Pattaya depart frequently from Ekkamai and Mo-Chit bus terminals, as well as Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The journey takes about 2-3 hours, and with affordable ticket prices, this is a great budget-friendly option for travellers.

By Taxi

For a more comfortable ride, consider taking a taxi or using ride-hailing services like Bolt or Grab. While this option is quicker, it comes at a higher price.

    Morning: Sanctuary of Truth

Start your day at the Sanctuary of Truth. Arrive early to avoid the midday heat and appreciate the intricate details of this breathtaking temple. Towering at 105 metres tall, the impressive structure is made entirely out of wood which details themes from Buddhism and Hinduism through its carvings.

Afternoon: Pattaya Beach

Next, make your way to Pattaya Beach. This stretch of coastline runs several kilometres along the Gulf of Thailand. The central beach is the most popular spot, bustling with activity and lined with a variety of restaurants and bars.

If you're feeling adventurous, take advantage of the numerous water sports available, from jet skiing to parasailing. Alternatively, simply relax on the soft sand, enjoy a refreshing drink and take in the beautiful ocean views.

Evening: Walking Street

As the sun sets, get ready to experience the vibrant nightlife that Pattaya is renowned for. Walking street, the city's entertainment hub, offers an array of experiences. Catch a Muay Thai boxing match or a cabaret show, enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants and then dance the night away at the lively nightclubs.

Phuket Activities: 6 Adventurous Activities

Phuket, Thailand's largest island, covers 36 square miles and lies off the west coast of southern Thailand on the Andaman Sea. Its diverse landscape, from mountains and jungles to beautiful beaches, offers an abundance of activities to try! Unfortunately, I was unwell for some of my time in Phuket so the only excursion I got to do was ATV riding. This post will share how I found this as well as some other activities I would love to do on my next trips to the island. 1. Snorkelling  Phuket's tropical climate keeps the water warm year-round, making it ideal for snorkelling. Discover vibrant coral reefs, reef fish, sea turtles and much more beneath the waves.  2. Scuba Diving For those looking for a deeper underwater adventure, scuba diving is a fantastic option. Popular dive sites include: Shark Point, King Cruiser Wreck and Anemone Reef.  Certain companies also offer courses that allow you to gain your scuba diving certification. 3. Canoeing or Kayaking in Phang Nga Bay  Phang

Bangkok Bazaar: The City's Best Markets

Bangkok, Thailand's capital, is the most visited city in the world! From its rich culture to its incredible food, there's something for everyone. A highlight of any trip is the opportunity to shop for some unique souvenirs. In this post, we'll explore some of the best markets Bangkok has to offer. I only had a few shorts days in Bangkok so only managed to visit the following two markets: Chatuchak Weekend Market and Chinatown.    Chatuchak Weekend Market If you're in Bangkok over the weekend, a visit to the Chatuchak Weekend Market is an absolute must. Spanning over 35 acres, this sprawling market features over 15,000 stalls ranging from food, antiques fashion and much more! This market was definitely my favourite of the two. We happily spent a few hours here, exploring the stalls and enjoying some delicious bites along the way.      Chinatown  Next, we explore the heart of one of the largest Chinatown's in the world - Bangkok's Yoawarat Road. By day, Yoawarat R

Phi Phi Don Guide

Phi Phi Don is the largest of the six Phi Phi Islands, covering approximately 10 square miles. Located in the stunning Andaman Sea, just off the southern coast of Thailand, it stands out for its breathtaking scenery and vibrant atmosphere. This island quickly became my favourite destination in Thailand, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, adventure, and relaxation. How to get here You can take the ferry or speedboat to the island. Speedboats are obviously faster but are also more expensive.  The main departure ports are Rassada Pier in Phuket, Klong Jilad Pier in Krabi and Saladan Pier in Koh Lanta.  Speedboats and Ferries arrive at Tonsai Pier in Phi Phi Don. Once off the boat you will need to pay a small entry fee of 20 Baht per person which is an environmental tax fee which contributes twoards helping keep the island clean.  Where to Stay  1. Ton Sai Village  This area is ideal for first-time visitors, partygoers and those who want to be in the heart of the action. We stayed
