Phuket Activities: 6 Adventurous Activities

Phuket, Thailand's largest island, covers 36 square miles and lies off the west coast of southern Thailand on the Andaman Sea. Its diverse landscape, from mountains and jungles to beautiful beaches, offers an abundance of activities to try!

Unfortunately, I was unwell for some of my time in Phuket so the only excursion I got to do was ATV riding. This post will share how I found this as well as some other activities I would love to do on my next trips to the island.

1. Snorkelling

Phuket's tropical climate keeps the water warm year-round, making it ideal for snorkelling. Discover vibrant coral reefs, reef fish, sea turtles and much more beneath the waves.

2. Scuba Diving

For those looking for a deeper underwater adventure, scuba diving is a fantastic option. Popular dive sites include: Shark Point, King Cruiser Wreck and Anemone Reef.

Certain companies also offer courses that allow you to gain your scuba diving certification.

3. Canoeing or Kayaking in Phang Nga Bay

Phang Nga Bay, part of Ao Phang Nga National Park, lies between Phuket and mainland Thailand and is known for its towering limestone karsts. Paddle through secret caves, mangroves and stop by the famous James Bond Island (Tapu Rock), featured in The Man with the Golden Gun.

If you book an sunset or night tour you may even be able to see bioluminescent plankton.

4. Waterfall Hikes

Phuket's scenic waterfall hikes are perfect for nature lovers. Follow the jungle trails to beautiful waterfalls like Bang Pae and Ton Sai, where refreshing pools provide the perfect spot for a cool dip. These hikes offer a peaceful retreat from the island's busier beaches.

5. ATV Riding

ATV riding provides a thrilling way to explore Phuket's rugged jungles. Guided tours take you off-road through dense forests and scenic trails, offering incredible viewpoints and revealing hidden gems around the island. It's an ideal adventure for thrill-seekers and nature enthusiasts alike.

We spent an hour riding ATVs through the jungle, led by an excellent guide. Along the way, we saw traditional houses and stopped at some breathtaking viewpoints. Be prepared to get really muddy—bringing a change of clothes is a must!

6. Zip Lining

For a unique view of Phuket's jungles, try zip lining. Soar between treetops, enjoying panoramic views of greenery and distant beaches. With various courses and zip lines at different heights, it's an exciting activity for all ages that combines adrenaline with stunning scenery above the jungle canopy.

Scuba diving at the popular dive sites and taking an evening canoe tour through Phang Nga Bay are at the top of my bucket list for my next trip to Phuket.

Tip: Phuket's rainy season runs from around May to October, with the heaviest rain often in September, which may impact some activities.

Also, be sure to research and book your Phuket activities with reputable companies for a safe and enjoyable experience.

Bangkok Bazaar: The City's Best Markets

Bangkok, Thailand's capital, is the most visited city in the world! From its rich culture to its incredible food, there's something for everyone. A highlight of any trip is the opportunity to shop for some unique souvenirs. In this post, we'll explore some of the best markets Bangkok has to offer. I only had a few shorts days in Bangkok so only managed to visit the following two markets: Chatuchak Weekend Market and Chinatown.    Chatuchak Weekend Market If you're in Bangkok over the weekend, a visit to the Chatuchak Weekend Market is an absolute must. Spanning over 35 acres, this sprawling market features over 15,000 stalls ranging from food, antiques fashion and much more! This market was definitely my favourite of the two. We happily spent a few hours here, exploring the stalls and enjoying some delicious bites along the way.      Chinatown  Next, we explore the heart of one of the largest Chinatown's in the world - Bangkok's Yoawarat Road. By day, Yoawarat R

Phi Phi Don Guide

Phi Phi Don is the largest of the six Phi Phi Islands, covering approximately 10 square miles. Located in the stunning Andaman Sea, just off the southern coast of Thailand, it stands out for its breathtaking scenery and vibrant atmosphere. This island quickly became my favourite destination in Thailand, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, adventure, and relaxation. How to get here You can take the ferry or speedboat to the island. Speedboats are obviously faster but are also more expensive.  The main departure ports are Rassada Pier in Phuket, Klong Jilad Pier in Krabi and Saladan Pier in Koh Lanta.  Speedboats and Ferries arrive at Tonsai Pier in Phi Phi Don. Once off the boat you will need to pay a small entry fee of 20 Baht per person which is an environmental tax fee which contributes twoards helping keep the island clean.  Where to Stay  1. Ton Sai Village  This area is ideal for first-time visitors, partygoers and those who want to be in the heart of the action. We stayed
